Multiple Identities and Work Motivation: The Role of Perceived Compatibility between Nested Organizational Units
In
the modern context social identification play a major role within organizations
and pay more attention towards typical work place offers multiple foci or
targets of identification. Because of this employees are willing to develop
multiple identifications at the work place. For example; employees may identify
with their supervisors, occupations, workgroups or the organization at the same
time. This multiple identifications are more focused towards the employees’
respective correlation with the potential outcome. This research was mainly
focused on to explore the how perceived compatibility between the two foci
correlates and work motivation.
Cooperative
network can be defined as associations of legally independent organizations
that pursue common goal and have a common cooperate identity. Cooperate network
involves more than one organization. Network typically deals with the functional
operations within organization, such as marketing activities, negotiations with
suppliers, supplying certain good and services, etc.
Moreover organizations are involved highly significant employees and one of these merging organizations plays an important role throughout the merging process.
The questionnaire of this study included following measures.

network
- 2.
Identification between store and network
- 3.
Performance intentions of store and
network
Store and network
motivation referred to 3 types of work behaviour. They are in role, extra role
and anti role. There are 3 limitations in this study.
- 1.
Model is considered only for data capture
- 2.
Self report measures
- 3. Only use specific context
So this study
allows only for tentative conclusions. Specifically findings are consistent
with perceived store network compatibility strengthens, benefits of the
individual network worker. Another finding is store identification correlates
negatively with network motivation when all other postulated causes of the
latter variable are controlled. This research should continue to explore
differences between facets of compatibility. And this study suggests store
network. Compatibility plays a crucial role in network identification and motivation.

Perceived compatibility within nested organizational units is a measure of to which various divisions, departments, or teams within an organization regard its objectives, principles, plans of action, and methods of operation as complementary and in harmony. This idea focuses on how various units work well together within the overall organizational framework.
